We are looking for a talented and experienced Backend Developer to join Amsotics, a growing website design and software development agency. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reliable, secure, scalable, and high-performing backend systems that power our websites, web applications, APIs, and digital products.
In this role, you will work closely with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, project managers, and clients to understand business requirements and develop robust technical solutions. You will be involved in designing application architecture, developing APIs, managing databases, implementing business logic, integrating third-party services, and ensuring the overall performance and security of backend systems.
The ideal candidate should have strong programming and database fundamentals, experience with backend frameworks and API development, and a solid understanding of software development practices. You should be comfortable troubleshooting complex technical issues, optimizing application performance, writing maintainable code, and working collaboratively within a development team.

ROLE OVERVIEW
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and services.
• Develop secure, reliable, and well-documented REST APIs and web services.
• Implement business logic and backend functionality based on project requirements.
• Design, develop, and optimize relational and non-relational databases.
• Work with frontend developers to integrate APIs and backend services.

• Optimize backend applications, database queries, and API performance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend and production issues.
• Write clean, reusable, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Implement proper error handling, validation, logging, and security practices.
• Work with cloud services, hosting environments, and deployment processes when required.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, project managers, and clients.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards.
• Maintain technical documentation for APIs, systems, and development processes.
• Use Git and version control systems for development and collaboration.
• Stay updated with modern backend technologies, frameworks, security practices, and industry standards.
• Deliver assigned projects and tasks within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• 1–3+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong programming skills in one or more backend languages such as PHP, Node.js, Python, Java, or similar.
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Laravel, Express.js, Django, FastAPI, or similar.
• Strong understanding of REST API development and integration.
• Good knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Understanding of database design, relationships, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with authentication, authorization, sessions, and API security.
• Understanding of common web security practices and vulnerabilities.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services.
• Understanding of server-side architecture and application deployment.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, scalable, and maintainable code.
